I agree with John on #3. That used to be the case but not anymore. Also, I noticed you mentioned n #6 that visiting links color should be different from regular links. Is there a reason why this site does not do that? :)

I would agree with all of these, especially #2. I love the work of Nando Costa (www.nandocosta.com), but the home page just put me off straight away. Their studio website http://www.nervo.tv is much better, I prefer them to be more interactive.

Nice post, but you might want to rethink #3 since all modern browsers now utilize page zooming instead of font-size control. It doesn’t matter if you define your font sizes in pixels or ems anymore.

Some great points otherwise though.

I totally agree with #9, user should have control if they want to open the new windows/tab…
One of the tips that I ever read from the so-called blogging guru to use target _blank every link… geez, and I followed this tips back then…

but sometimes an appropriate usage of target blank can give user a better navigation.
