    There has been a constant rise in the number of individuals looking for socially responsible services and goods.  This has meant that companies need to learn how to market to these customers. In order to do this the company will need to understand why consumers buy and use certain goods and services.

    The green conscious consumer is passionate about the environment and also likely to be interested in health and social issues. The purchases they make are strongly influenced by strong values and beliefs in regards to society and culture. This green market is growing rapidly and becoming very influential because of the buying power it possesses. It is possible to classify the products this section of the population is after under the following headings; eco-tourism, recyclable fashion, natural and organic, health and wellness, socially responsible, environmentally responsible, and green and sustainable buildings.

    This really is a great time for any company that wants to make a difference in the world.  If you are such a company then you will need to think about how you are going to go about conveying this message. You won’t only need to reach the converted, but also that part of the market that would make the change if they had the information.

    It is necessary that you understand the motivations of your customer before you begin working on communication and branding of your company. Use surveys, blogs, and other forms of social networking, to discover how people feel; this knowledge will really prove valuable because it will give you all you need to know in order to create a message that people will care about.  You need to remember that you are dealing with people who are passionate about their beliefs.

    Your brand has to be something worth inspiring to before it will motivate people. This means that you must convince your potential customers that the product will be of benefit. It is important that any message you send is simple and discernible. You need to personally connect with your audience by allowing them the see how you can benefit their lives.

    When you connect with customers on an emotional level they can more easily see the benefits of your product. This is all about how you expect your customer to feel when they buy and use what you are selling them. You want your customer to feel that they really can make a change by their consumer choices. These customers want to know all about the things they buy because they want to make informed choices. It is important that you can educate your customer so that they can feel comfortable with their decision to go with your product.
